Things in Istanbul change very quickly, even though we know several hostels were students stayed in the past years, they may be closed or quite different at the moment. This for, the organization suggest you to check through the web, there are hundreds of options to spend a nice week in Istanbul at decent prices.
Still, we reccomend to book a room nearby Taksim Square, which is the business and entertainment centre of the city. Even if Takism area is quite busy, there are frequent and free shuttles to Bilgi University from Taksim Square (it’s less than 15 minutes). Sultanhamet, the wonderful Istanbul’s historical district, could be more suitable for tourists than students attending a conference at Bilgi (from Sultahamet to Taksim square is 10min by light metro). Eventually, the asian side of the city is way too far from Bilgi, so please consider this issue before booking.
Besides the buses and other public transport, the SantralIstanbul Campus is accessible by the University’s free shuttle service, which connects the university to the city. Please check here: Taksim Square – Santral Campus -Taksim Square shuttle buses timetable here:
Cafeterias and Restaurants: Istanbul Bilgi University operates several facilities for the convenience of students and staff on its campus. The university cafeterias are popular and lively meeting places, both for a relaxing moderately-priced meal and social gatherings with friends.
