- This autumn, Resetdoc’s debates on cultural pluralism, minorities, differences and democracy, with top thinkers and international scholars, will take place once again in Milan, every two weeks starting on the 31st October. This cycle of the “Plural World” project will be introduced with a lectio magistralis held by the French sociologist Alain Touraine and we will discuss: Living Together with Differences. What does Toleration Mean? (with Susan Mendus, University of York), Violence in Words and Images. Is Blasphemy a Critique of Religions? (with Nilüfer Göle, EHESS Paris), Visibility of Places of Worship. Religious Practices and Urban Space (with Simona Malvezzi and Wilfried Kuehn, architects), Foreigners in the Classroom. - Resetdoc is pleased to announce the new edition of our dialogues about cultural pluralism in Milan, Italy, which started in 2013. This series of international conference is a project directed by Giancarlo Bosetti and promoted by Reset-Dialogues on Civilizations and Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, in cooperation with Università Università degli Studi di Milano, Politecnico, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, Radio Popolare and with the Patronage of the City Milano and of the Fondazione Cariplo.
- Michael Walzer from the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton University, will be in Rome and Milan, Italy, on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May for three conferences.
- Reset-Dialogues on Civilizations is pleased to announce that Nilüfer Göle, a Turkish Professor of Sociology in Paris and member of our scientific committee, was awarded on May 12th France’s most important decoration, the Légion d’Honneur, for her contributions in the field of Islam In Europe and alternative modernity. Nilüfer Göle has worked for 15 years at the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, where she is currently director of studies. Professor Alain Touraine presented her with the Légion d’Honneur.
