Rabia Turnbull

Rabia Turnbull is a South African Youth Fellow at the International Youth Think Tank (IYTT) and an Intelligence Analyst with a focus on international security, development, and democratization through a post-colonial lens. She holds an International Master’s Degree in Security, Intelligence, and Strategic Studies from the University of Glasgow, Università di Trento, and Charles University Prague, specialising in Great Power Politics and its implications for development and democratisation in Africa and the Middle East. Rabia’s experience spans academic research, activism, and NGO collaborations addressing postcolonial racial justice, migration and reconciliation. She is a former Mandela Residential Fellow at the Centre for Diplomatic Advancement and currently volunteers as research lead for the African Youth Security Network. In this role, she co-founded the African Network for Peace and Security, promoting youth perspectives and diplomatic dialogue to address pressing security challenges in Africa.
