Hurriyah is a senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science and the Director of the Center for Political Studies, Universitas Indonesia. She is also the chair of the Indonesian Scholar Network on Freedom of Religion or Beliefs (ISFORB). She has been researched and published her works about religion and politics, religious freedom, and Indonesian politics.  Hurriyah has also been involved in several initiatives to mainstream religious freedom or beliefs, as well as initiative to strengthen women’s political representation in Indonesia. She has had 18 years’ experience in academic and applied research that informs the government, international and local organisations on how to promote research-based advocacy for policy change in Indonesia.
