Think Tanks

It is an English expression that literaly means “tank of ideas”. During the Second World War it stood for secret locations where military chiefs met in order to take crucial decisions. Today it refers to those groups of research, that are committed to specific scientific researches. The think-tank that deal with dialogue among civilizations.



Memri

The Middle East Media Research Institute explores the Middle East through the region's media. It bridges the language gap which exists between the West and the Middle East, providing timely translations of Arabic, Persian, and Turkish media, as well as original analysis of political, ideological, intellectual, social, cultural, and religious trends in the Middle East. Founded in February 1998 to inform the debate over U.S. policy in the Middle East, Memri is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit, organization, and its headquarters is located in Washington, DC, with branch offices in Berlin, London, Tokyo and Jerusalem. Memri research is translated to English, German, Hebrew, Italian, French, Spanish and Japanese.


International Crisis Group

The International Crisis Group (Crisis Group) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, with nearly 120 staff members on five continents, working through field-based analysis and high-level advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict. Teams of political analysts are located within or close by countries at risk of outbreak, escalation or recurrence of violent conflict. It produces analytical reports containing practical recommendations targeted at key international decision-takers. Based in Brussels, Washington, New York, London and Moscow, Crisis Group also publishes CrisisWatch, a twelve-page monthly bulletin, providing a succinct regular update on the state of play in all the most significant situations of conflict or potential conflict around the world.


International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World

The International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World conducts and promotes interdisciplinary research on social, political, cultural, and intellectual trends and movements in contemporary Muslim societies and communities. The ISIM was established in 1998 by the University of Amsterdam, Leiden University, Radboud University Nijmegen and Utrecht University and is based in Leiden, The Netherlands. ISIM’s research approaches are expressly interdisciplinary and comparative, covering a large geographic range. Among the publications of the ISIM are the ISIM Review and the ISIM Papers Series.


Global Expert Finder (United Nations Alliance of Civilizations)

Global Expert Finder is a free online resource of opinion leaders who provide quick reactions and accurate analysis to journalists worldwide on complex political, social and religious issues and crises. Global Expert Finder was developed by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, and is supported by a network of partners from the media, academia, civil society and the international community, including the European Commission, the International Center for Journalists, Search for Common Ground, International Crisis Group, and the Global Forum for Media Development.
